Project Engineer

Job Summary

 

The Project Engineer provides support to the Fuel Operations Engineering Coordinator in the areas of repairs, maintenance, environmental compliance and construction oversight, with an emphasis on field inspections, record-keeping, and broad understanding of the Fuel Department.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Functional tasks:
    • Dispatches various service providers for repairs
    • Maintenance invoice review and approval
    • Conducts environmental training and compliance
    • Creates and maintains records
      • Fuel Sites and Petroleum Systems
      • Car Wash Sites
      • Convenience Stores
    • Perform calculations, write specifications, review equipment proposals, evaluate and select equipment
  • Visit Fuel Sites -  regular schedule and as needed
  • Interact with various Contractors, Regulators, and Ingle’s Markets Associates
  • Document and archive, standard operating procedures for activities and processes within the

Department

  • Develop and maintain various lists (equipment and materials) and drawings
  • Ensures projects are in compliance with accepted plans, and completed as scheduled….  Tracks progress toward milestones and budgetary guidelines, and prepares reports
  • Understands and ensures compliance with local, State, and Federal environmental regulations
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement and, if approved, act as a change agent for the department during the implementation
  • Prepare assigned reports as requested on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Gain a broad understanding of the Department, especially Fuel Supply/Inventory Management and Supply Invoice Reconciliation,  in order to serve as a back-up for other team members

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred
  • 3 years of experience in a related field preferred
  • Microsoft Office competency
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team
