The Company

Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets’ headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain.

The Position

The Money and Banking Clerk will be responsible for preparing weekly and monthly bank statement reconciliations, preparing and posting journal entries in relation to applicable accounts, reconciling bank clearing accounts, preparing and printing all accounts payable and payroll checks, voiding checks when necessary, as well as conducting administrative office duties. The clerk will also prepare deposits via remote deposit capture, prepare drafts to be distributed, process customer gift cards, in addition to assisting customers and associates with gift card, money order, and deposit slip inquiries.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision effectively and efficiently, and has strong time management, organizational, and customer service skills. The candidate should have up to two years of experience in Accounting, Banking, or a related field. Must be able to communicate and work well with associates of all levels and provide outstanding customer service to business partners. Computer skills should include proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and 10-key and the candidate should be able to adapt and be flexible with the changing needs of the role, especially during times of high volume.
