The Company

Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets’ headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain.

The Team

We are lean team that services 27,000 employees across 6 states. We work hard as a collective team to ensure everything is accomplished, even if it is not in our job description. The Position

The Linux Manager will possess a strong technical background and solid leadership experience. Duties will include managing Linux Administrators and python programmers, plan and scope small projects, prioritize and monitor the work of the team, ensure adherence to policies (company, SOX, PCI, HIPPA), reduce technical debt, ensure tickets are being resolved in a timely manner, as well as other duties to ensure smooth operations in the IT department. The manager should establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with other IT teams. They will evaluate performance and provide coaching for team members, as well as foster teamwork, collaboration, and learning.

Candidate

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to effectively and efficiently manage a team of 6-10 Linux administrators, have strong time management, and organizational skills. The candidate should also have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent IT work experience. Must have enterprise experience of Linux, bash shell development, python, git, Ansible and server virtualization with VMWare. This is a hybrid-work position. Candidate must live or be willing to relocate within commuting distance of Black Mountain, NC.
