Linux Administrator II

The Company

Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets’ headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain.


The Team

The Position

The Linux Admin II will support, maintain, and engineer solutions for the company regarding Linux servers. Duties will include daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key process, reviewing system and application logs, verifying completion of scheduled jobs, and provisioning Linux based computers and hardware to associates.



The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision effectively and efficiently, has strong time management, and organizational skills. The candidate should also have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent IT work experience. Working knowledge of bash shell development, python scripts, and Ansible and server virtualization with KVM and RHEV, preferred. This is a hybrid-work position. Candidate must live or be willing to relocate within commuting distance of Black Mountain, NC.
