The Company

Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets’ headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain.

The Position

The General Liability Adjuster I is responsible for handling claims involving Ingles Markets’ customers and other non-employees.  This position will exhibit great customer service by expediting the handling of liability claims and conducting investigations. The adjuster will communicate with all parties involved with the claim, serve as the point of contact, make requests for investigative documentation, evaluate damages, and negotiate settlements, as necessary. The Adjuster will also be responsible for tasks associated with the claims, including file documentation, and payments.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail and organization. They must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or 2 or more years of claim handling experience. Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of applications. A working understanding of Claim Management Systems and a NC adjusters license is preferred, but not required.
