The Company

Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets’ headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain.

The Position

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for auditing vendor agreements, reviewing accuracy of data and documentation. They will communicate with departments to resolve questions and issues, as well as support communication and vendor inquiries. The clerk will also track vendor invoices ensuring accuracy and timely payments.  Duties will include facilitating vendor communication, coordinating vendor billing and payments, data entry, and general office duties.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision effectively and efficiently, and has strong time management, organizational, and customer service skills. The candidate should also have a minimum of a High School Diploma and up to 2 years of accounting or comparable experience, preferred. Must be able to communicate and work well with associates of all levels and provide outstanding customer service to business partners.  Ability to consistently recognize and communicate adherence to company processes, policies, and procedures with written and verbal skills to communicate clearly with all levels of the organization.  Strong computer skills which should include proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the capacity to quickly learn other in-house applications.
