Shipping - Vehicle Mechanic

Milkco is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to maintain vehicles in our Shipping Department. This position is from Monday through Friday with alternating Saturdays (no more than 5 work days per week). This person will:

 

  • Conduct routine maintenance work for vehicle functionality and longevity. This includes things like changing oil, servicing brakes, checking hoses and electrical connections, and other tasks as needed.
  • Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues.
  • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues such as replacing the alternator or water pump.
  • Schedule future maintenance sessions.
  • Keep logs on work and issues.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.

 

The ideal candidate has:

  • Mechanic certification or equivalent experience (diesel engine experience not required)
  • Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods

Compensation Information:

  • Starting wage $20+/hr DOE
  • Automatic Annual Pay Review

 

Employment Requirements:

  • Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Physical (provided by Milkco).
  • Will conduct a Criminal Background Check.
  • Must pass an E-Verify Screening.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hrs per day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders as needed.
  • Overhead reaching and lifting may be required at times.

 

Experience:

  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Must want to work and have excellent attendance.
  • Need to be cooperative and able to get along with a lot of people.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to contribute in a team atmosphere.
